How to Stay Motivated

In order to reach your weight loss goals, you are going to have to show some patience. There are going to be times when you do not feel motivation. How do you reach down deep and find that motivation?

1. Take Pictures

When you first start your diet, take pictures of yourself. Take a new set each month, so you can see the differences that are happening in your body composition.

2. Keep Reminding Yourself That You Have a Goal

Visualize yourself at your target weight. Put a picture of a person you want to look like on your fridge. That way, if you are tempted to eat fatty foods, you'll remember your overall objective.

3. Treat Yourself

Have a rewards system for when you reach mini goals. Try to keep them non-food related. One way to reward yourself is with new clothes, which you may need anyway if you continue to lose a considerable amount of weight! And, make sure it fits your CURRENT size, so you are motivated to stay that way!

4. Let the People Know

Tell your friends and family about your goals. Number one, they will be able to hold you accountable, and number two, they know not to tempt you with food.

5. Get Help From Others in a Support Group

Those who have faced the same challenges as you, or continue to face those challenges can be a big help. Take advantage of them! They will not only give you motivation, but they can also offer helpful advice. You can even do this online.


Finding motivation is only half the battle. You need the right diet and exercise plan.
